NEW STAFF AND ADMINISTRATIVE ASSIGNMENTS AT BETHANY COLLEGE
LINDSBORG, Kan.—Bethany College recently welcomed one new full-time staff member and assigned additional interim roles to two current staff members.
Aubrey Streit has joined Bethany College as director of communications.
Her duties include managing media relations, serving as the college’s official spokesperson, editing Bethany Magazine, supervising Web development and directing publications.
Streit is a 2006 graduate of Bethany College with a bachelor’s degree in English and communication. She is a former contributor and editorial assistant for Bethany Magazine and publications intern at The Land Institute, Salina, Kan.
She previously taught English at a bilingual high school in Bratislava, Slovakia as part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Global Mission Program.
Two Bethany staffers have taken on additional responsibilities in interim positions.
Colene Lind, interim vice president for advancement, now also serves as interim vice president for enrollment. In this position she will provide overall strategic leadership for the college’s recruitment efforts.
Lind served Bethany as an assistant professor of communications from 1999 to 2003 and was director of college relations from 2004 to 2006, when she was appointed interim vice president for advancement.
Lind received a bachelor’s degree in speech and political science from Hastings (Neb.) College and a master’s degree in speech from Kansas State University.
Brenda Meagher, director of financial aid, now also serves as interim director of admissions. In her new role, her duties include providing operational leadership for the admissions staff as they execute the college’s recruitment communication plan.
Meagher has served as director of financial aid at Bethany for eleven years, following five years as assistant director of financial aid.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Washburn University.
