BETHANY HIRES DEAN OF ADMISSIONS AND FINANCIAL AID

LINDSBORG, Kan.—A Bethany College alumna with more than 14 years of experience in higher education, including nine in admissions, will lead the admissions effort at Bethany College.
Tricia Hawk will begin Jan. 4 as dean of admissions and financial aid at Bethany College.
Hawk, a 1984 Bethany College graduate, has been director of development, human resources and marketing at Lindsborg Community Hospital since 2001. Her job responsibilities there include organizing and executing fundraising and marketing campaigns. In 2005, she created the structure for the human resources office at the hospital.
As dean of admissions and financial aid, Hawk will develop, strengthen and lead the admissions effort at Bethany College, working to ensure the college meets goals for enrollment. She will serve as a member of the senior cabinet and oversee a staff of nine individuals.
Hawk has a long relationship of service at the college, and has worked with its advancement and admissions departments in the past. From 1998 to 2001, she was director of alumni programs at Bethany. In this position she created First Monday, Bethany’s first-ever electronic newsletter, which was distributed to alumni and friends.
From 1991 to 1993, she directed summer programs and special events at Bethany, and from 1985 to 1987, she was a Bethany admissions representative.
Hawk also offers experience in admissions from Friends University in Wichita, where she was associate director of undergraduate and graduate admissions from 1994 to 1998. While there, she supervised and trained three admissions representatives; maintained her own recruitment territory; gave financial aid presentations; and helped market seven graduate programs.
Hawk has been active in the local community, serving on the Lindsborg Tomorrow Steering Committee and Smoky Valley High School Booster Club Board of Directors. From 2001 to 2003, she was president of the Lindsborg Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
In 2004, she graduated from Leadership Lindsborg and was inducted into the Bethany College Athletic Hall of Honor. Hawk currently serves on the McPherson County United Way Board of Directors.
