BETHANY TO HOST PANEL DISCUSSION ON HEALTH CARE
LINDSBORG, Kan.—Bethany College invites the public to participate in a panel discussion on the issue of health care. Hospital administrator Greg Lundstrom, Dr. Craig Concannon and attorney John Mize will serve as panelists for the session, to be held Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Lindquist Hall. The event is part of Bethany’s Interterm Speakers Series on issues of vital concern to voters in the 2008 election. A Jan. 8 event discussed the issue of energy. “As with energy, health care is an extremely complex and multifaceted issue. The three panelists for Jan. 22 were selected because of the breadth of their perspectives and expertise with health care and the health care industry, and our format is intended to offer the audience a great opportunity to ask questions of these panelists,” said Joyce Pigge, a professor of political science at Bethany who helped organize the event. Greg Lundstrom, a 1977 graduate of Bethany College, was the long-time chief executive officer at Lindsborg Community Hospital. Craig Concannon, a 1980 graduate of Bethany College, has practiced internal medicine in Kansas for more than twenty years. He lives in Beloit, Kan. John Mize serves as general counsel to Salina Regional Health Center and its related entities, and has over thirty years of experience in health care and tax-exempt organization law. An active member of the American Health Lawyers Association, he has served three terms on the board of directors of the Kansas Association of Hospital Attorneys and was president of that organization from 2006 to 2007. Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission of Bethany College is to nurture and challenge individuals in their search for truth and meaning as they lead lives of faith, learning and service.
