BETHANY STUDENTS SELECTED FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE BAND
LINDSBORG, Kan.—Two Bethany College students have been selected for the 2008 Kansas Music Educators Association Intercollegiate Band.

Jamie Nelson, percussion, and Serenity House, bass clarinet, will rehearse with an ensemble of 96 students from 23 colleges in Kansas in preparation for a Feb. 29 concert at 2:45 p.m. in the concert hall of Century II in Wichita, Kan.The event is part of the Kansas Music Educator Association in-service workshop.
Nelson, a junior music liberal arts major, and House, a senior instrumental music education major, are both from Marquette, Kan. Both are active in a number of Bethany music ensembles, including symphonic band, jazz band and Blue Dozen, all of which are directed by Doug Talbott, associate professor of music.
The band was selected from nominated junior and senior students from colleges and universities throughout Kansas.
Conductor for this year’s band is Paula Crider, an emeritus professor from the University of Texas.
