BETHANY HIRES DIRECTOR OF RESIDENCE LIFE
LINDSBORG, Kan.—Bethany College welcomes Darrell Purdy as its new director of residence life.

Purdy has held a variety of leadership positions within residence life at colleges and universities, and has worked in private practice as an organizational development consultant. He currently is interim area coordinator for housing and dining services at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he trains, supports and supervises staff in residence halls.
Purdy will begin at Bethany College on June 15. As director of residence life, he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of residence life at the college, including management of the residence-life staff.
With more than 20 years of experience, Purdy has worked in residence life at the University of Colorado, Boulder; State University of New York, Stony Brook; Midland Lutheran College; University of Wyoming; and Washington State University.
In 2006, Purdy founded LifeDream International Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing and meeting the needs of adults and children living with facially-disfiguring disabilities. He serves as senior partner in the organization.
From 1995 to 2001, he served as an adjunct faculty member at Dallas Baptist University’s School of Business and Management. He taught courses on human development in organizational settings, strategic leadership and the principles of organizational behavior. He also has been an associate consultant at Human Technologies International, specializing in organizational management and disability awareness training.
Purdy holds a Bachelor of Science in education from Biola University, La Mirada, Calif. He earned a Master of Education, with an emphasis in college student affairs, at Azusa Pacific University, Azusa, Calif.
