BETHANY WELCOMES NEW STAFFER IN ADMISSIONS
LINDSBORG, Kan.—Marcus Hicks will join the Bethany College Office of Admissions as an assistant director of admissions – transfer specialist. He will begin July 1.

            Hicks has more than 10 years of experience in working with college students, including experience as a coach, admissions counselor, instructor and academic advisor.
            At Bethany, Hicks will be responsible for marketing the college to prospective transfer, high school, and non-traditional students. He will build relationships with prospective students and their parents through recruitment activities, events, travel and communication.
            Hicks most recently was head women’s basketball coach at McPherson College, where his team last year tied the school record for most wins in a season.
            He has served as a head or assistant coach at several schools, including York College, Newman University and Pratt Community College. He concurrently served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching courses in management, at York College and Newman University.
            From 1999 to 2004, he was an assistant director of admissions and counselor at Newman University, where he worked to recruit and retain students and student-athletes.
            Hicks earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wichita State University and his Master of Arts in business management from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo.
