BETHANY BEGINS SCIENCE CENTER ADDITION
Construction is set to begin on the addition of laboratory space at Nelson Science Center on the campus of Bethany College.
LINDSBORG, Kan.—With a construction trailer in place, and arrows pointing out the boundaries of the construction site, Bethany College is ready for work to begin on new laboratories at its Nelson Science Center.
Soon, the site will be fenced and demolition will begin. Classes will continue as scheduled, but all traffic to the building will be directed to its west entrance.
The project will increase the number of laboratories in the building from three to six, adding 8,000 square feet of laboratory space, and will include a renovation of the east face of the building. Work is projected to be complete in time for the beginning of the 2009-2010 academic year at Bethany College.
Contractor for the job is D.F. Osborne Construction of Topeka.
The addition of laboratory space to Nelson Science Center comes as part of the college’s recent $6 million bonding project, which also funded the construction of a new apartment-style residence hall, and is funding an addition to Stroble-Gibson Gymnasium.
