Business Club is an organization within the Economics/Business department comprised of students who wish to further their knowledge of business and to enhance their leadership skills.
Business Club members learn life lessons by hearing different speakers (three each semester) tell their personal stories on how they became successful in the business world. In addition to speakers, the club helps to sponsor the bi-annual Business Career Conference where students are exposed to potential career paths and begin their career network.
Business Club also gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge about businesses and how they operate through in the annual Business Club trip. Recent trips include Dallas in 2003, Kansas City in 2004, and St. Louis in 2005, Chicago in 2006, and Denver in 2007.
In Denver, Buisness club members participated in the buisness operations of the Denver Broncos, and they experienced mutual fund management at ALPS, Inc. Tours of Flying Dog Brewery and Coors in Golden allowed students to contrast the small and large operational processes.
The Bethany College Business Club is open to any interested students, even if they aren't involved in the business curriculum. To be considered an active member of the club, students need to pay a $5 fee at the start of every year, as well as participate in five business club events. These events include: Selling popcorn for at least one half of either football or basketball games, helping stuff student survival kits for finals week, and other various fundraisers throughout the year.
