Head Coach Matt Tramel enters his fourth season at the helm of the Bethany Swedes. In the past three seasons he has guided the Swedes on an amazing run with a combined record of 121 victories and 50 loses, a .708 winning percentage. 
 
In Coach Tramel's second season in 2005, the Swedes were the KCAC champions and he was named KCAC Coach of the Year. In the last two years, the Swedes have broken the conference record for wins with 41 in each year.
 
Prior to arriving at Bethany, Coach Tramel was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Northwestern Oklahoma State University for five seasons. In those years he helped build the Rangers into one of the top programs in NAIA baseball. He also coached two seasons at junior-college power Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, IA, where he served as head assistant baseball coach as well as interim head baseball coach.
 
Coach Tramel has coached numerous All-Americans from NAIA and NJCAA. He is also proud of the fact that he has coached over 30 All-American Scholar Athletes. He has worked with more than 25 athletes who have went on to sign professional contracts at all different levels.
 
He believes in building a foundation for the student/athlete and to help his players grow as young men. His strong commitment to the players being successful has not only shown on the field and in school, but in everyday life.
 
Coach Tramel, is a native of Pryor, OK and currently resides in Lindsborg.
 
Adrian Dinkel enters his second season with the Swedes. He will serve as pitching coach, and aid in recruiting. Coach Dinkel was an All-Conference pitcher for the Swedes prior to taking over pitching duties. During his playing days at Bethany College he had the honor to play under legendary coach Matt Tramel. Coach Dinkel has graduated with a degree in health and physical education K-12 from Bethany College.
“Coach Dinkel has been a great asset to our pitching staff,” said Coach Tramel. “His pitching knowledge has assisted our pitchers into getting the most out of their abilities and in turn, meaning more wins.”
Coach Dinkel is from Magna, Utah
 
Rusty Brown enters his third season with the Swedes. He will serve as recruiting coordinator, bench coach and assisting with the hitters.
Coach Brown was a pitcher for the Swedes prior to his stint as coach.
Previously, he spent two years at Barton County Community College where he played for Coach Mike Warren.
According to Coach Tramel, Coach Brown has been a key to the recent success of the team, “Coach Brown has been valuable to what the program has become. His hard work as a recruiter has made a major impact to our program.”
Rusty earned his Physical Education degree at Bethany. 
 
Mark “Carv” Carvalho enters his first season as an assistant coach to the Bethany Swedes, but he is no stranger to the league or the region. As head baseball coach at Friends University, Coach Carv was the winningest coach in Falcon history with 231 wins. His team won the 2004 KCAC Championship, Region 4 Runner-up and had a 38-14 record overall. He has won three championship while at Friends.
He has also coached the USA Athletes teams that have gone to Belgium and Aruba twice.
Coach Carv will be working with the hitters and giving his over-25 year of coaching experience to the Swede players.
As a player, he was a two-year starter at Cowley Country Community College and transferred to Wichita State University where a series of injuries ended his playing career.
“Coach Carvalho is one of the most respected coaches in America,” Coach Tramel said. “His knowledge and experience is invaluable and we are very fortunate to have with us.”
Coach Carv is originally from New Jersey, but went to high school in Arkansas City, KS and now resides with his family in Wichita.
 
Joey Martinson enters his first season as an assistant pitching coach. Prior to coach duties, Coach Martinson played two seasons at Salt Lake City Community College and at Bethany College, he garnered All-American honors as well as being named Bethany College athlete of the year in 2006. Joey Martinson was a 23rd round draft pick of the Texas Rangers.
“Coach Martinson will be bringing a fresh outlook to our young pitchers,” said Coach Tramel. “He will be assisting Coach Dinkel with the pitchers and this will only help in our players success.”

Ryan Wardein enters his first season as a coach for the Swedes. Wardein will work with the catchers, infielders, hitting and in charge of field maintenance.
During his playing stint for the Swedes, he gardened All-Conference honors.
“Coach Wardein is very valuable with all that he can do as a coach,” said Coach Tramel. “His work on the field has made it so there will be great playing conditions, which will help our team defensively.”
Coach Wardein is a native of San Diego, CA.
