AT101 Functional Anatomy for the Athletic Trainer (2 hours)
This course is designed to provide athletic training students with a functional foundation in the human skeleton and the muscles that move the human body.  It is designed to functionally connect anatomical concepts to injury evaluation skills and to prepare students for higher-level athletic training courses.  Prerequisites: concurrent with BI120 and PE250.
AT105 Emergency Response for the Athletic Trainer (1 hour)
First aid and safety procedures, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED training and prevention training. Emergency Response and CPR certificates from the American Red Cross awarded to those who qualify. Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor.
AT200 Introduction to Clinical Experience (2 hours)
This course is an introduction to athletic training clinical experiences in the Bethany College Athletic Training Education Program. Students will receive laboratory instructions and practical experiences in the basic athletic training skills. Prerequisites: AT101, AT105, PE250 and acceptance into the Bethany College Athletic Training Education Program.
AT301 Clinical Experience I (2 hours)
This course is designed to integrate assessment and evaluation skills.  Students will receive laboratory instruction and practical experiences in upper and lower extremity evaluations through structured laboratory sessions and work in field experience settings.  Prerequisites: AT20, AT351.
AT302 Clinical Experience II (3 hours)
This course is designed to integrate evaluations skills and the application of therapeutic modalities and pharmacology.  Students will receive laboratory instruction and practical experience when evaluating axial skeletal, thoracic and abdominal injuries and in injury care using therapeutic modalities and medications.  Prerequisites: AT301, AT352, AT430.
AT315 Therapeutic Exercise (3 hours)                   
This course involves the study of cardiovascular, neuromuscular, strength and flexibility fitness components and their practical application during the phases of rehabilitation. Laboratory included.  Prerequisites:  BI120 and PE250.
AT351 Prevention and Evaluation of Upper and Lower Body Athletic Injuries and Illnesses I (3 hours)
The study of techniques and principles used in the evaluation of orthopedic and soft tissue trauma and common illnesses. A study of clinical and field evaluative processes and equipment used by the athletic trainer. The preventive measures available to reduce the frequency of injury and illness are surveyed and discussed. Prerequisites: BI120, and PE250 or consent of the instructor.
AT352 Prevention and Evaluation of Upper and Lower Body Athletic Injuries and Illnesses II (3 hours)
The study of technique and principles used in the evaluation of orthopedic and soft tissue trauma and common illnesses. A study of clinical and field evaluative processes and equipment used by the athletic trainer. The preventive measures available to reduce the frequency of injury and illness are surveyed and discussed. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Bethany College Athletic Training Education Program, BI120, and PE250.

AT403 Clinical Experience III (3 hours)
This course is designed to integrate rehabilitation skills using therapeutic modalities and functional exercise.  Students will receive laboratory instruction and practical experience in athletic injury management and rehabilitation through structured laboratory sessions and work in field settings.  Prerequisites: AT302, AT315, AT430.
AT404 Clinical Experience IV (2 hours)
Students will receive laboratory instruction and practical experience in general medical and performance training and testing competencies and proficiencies through structured laboratory sessions and field experience settings.  Prerequisites: AT403, AT440.
AT405 Clinical Experience V (2 hours)
This course is designed to integrate all aspects of athletic training on an advanced level.  Students will receive laboratory instruction and practical experience on organization and administration issues and integration of athletic training skills through structured laboratory sessions and natural settings.  Students will complete a capstone project.  Prerequisites: AT404, AT435.
AT430 Therapeutic Modalities (3 hours)
A study of therapeutic modalities and pharmaceuticals and how they are incorporated in the facilitation of tissue healing response in various stages of rehabilitation from injury or illness.  Prerequisites: BI210 and PE250 or consent of the instructor.
AT435 Administration in Athletic Training (2 hours)
This course deals with the organization, administration, and methods involved in both the practice and programming of athletic training. An emphasis is placed on problem-solving and risk management. Prerequisites: PE250.
AT440 Pathology and General Medical Conditions for the Athletic Trainer (3 hours)
This course is a study of the causes and physiological responses physically active persons encounter due to injury, illness, diseases, and disabilities. Included are the recognition, treatment, and referral of general medical conditions. Prerequisites: BI120 and PE250.
