Athletic Training room
The facility is approximately 560 square feet, with the whirlpool area adding approximately 126 square feet. It houses 5 treatment tables and 4 taping tables, with a small area for rehabilitation equipment. In the main training space there is a counter for first aid treatment with a sink. The whirlpool room houses 2 whirlpools with currently one ice machine (another is being purchased this budget year) and the refrigerator/freezer. The coolers for water are also stored on a shelf along the wall in the whirlpool area. The door to the fields is also located off of the whirlpool room.
In the summer of 2005 a remodeling project was started that added a new larger storage space, 2 new offices, making a full wall a half wall to open up the viewing area to the whirlpool area, a whirlpool deck surrounding the two whirlpools, as well as new taping and treatment tables. The new additions are being achieved by using underused rooms that are located near the training room. The new spaces will add approximately 425 square feet of space for storage and offices, and with the removal of the old storage and office area within the training room, the rehabilitation are will increase by 140 square feet.

McPherson College
The core athletic training courses are taught on the McPherson College campus which is located 10 minutes from our campus. We share these courses with Tabor College, Bethel College and Sterling College. Class size for the last two years has been between 4-10 students per class from the 4 participating schools. Bethany had 7 students attending class in McPherson in the Fall of 2003, 5 in the spring of 2004, 2 student for the fall of 2004 and5 in the spring of 2005. Small class size helps with the interaction portion of each class as well as the quality of instruction. Students from each campus have ample opportunities to share their own experiences, so students end up with various examples for various topics discussed in class. McPherson is a centrally located campus between the schools. Labs associated with the classes taught at McPherson also. Clinical experiences are undertaken at each individual campus.
