Golf was established at Bethany in 1929. Since 1993 the team has been under the direction of Jon Daniels. Since that time, the team has seen its first all-American golfer and has won 11 consecutive KCAC championships from 1995-2005.  In 2006 the Swedes finished second in the KCAC.

The golf team is also a perennial national contender, and has been ranked in the NAIA top 20 for nine of coach Daniels' 12 years as head coach. The team has competed in Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas during the fall and spring seasons and has competed in the NAIA National Championship Tournament multiple times.

Coach Daniels has been named KCAC and NAIA Region IV Coach of the Year several times, including the 2005 season.
