JOB DESCRIPTION – 3D ASSISTANT

Art Dept., Mingenback Art Center, Bethany College

POSITION TITLE:       3D Assistant

SUPERVISOR:           Chair of Art Dept.

FUNCTIONS:              To assist the 3D area faculty:

                                       Caroline Kahler – Ceramics

                                       Ed Pogue - Sculpture

                                    Primary functions include:

                                       1) assist faculty in the Sculpture area as needed

                                       2) assist faculty in the Ceramic area as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø      Perform duties as assigned

Ø      General assistance with equipment maintenance

Ø      Assist mixing and bagging clay

Ø      Assist mixing glazes

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Ø      2 hour/week during school year

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø      Ability to lift heavy materials (at least 80 lbs.)

Ø      Ability to work in dusty environment (students with allergies or asthma not recommended for this position)

Ø      No experience necessary

Ø      Work Study preferred, but not necessary

Ø      Highly responsible and respectful of confidential materials

Ø      Ability to work as a team member with faculty and staff

Ø      Ability to learn and take directions

STANDARDS  OF  PERFORMANCE:

Ø      Periodic evaluation by the Chair of the Art Dept.
