JOB DESCRIPTION – STUDENT ASSISTANT SOCCER COACH

Office of Athletics, Bethany College

POSITION TITLE:           Student Assistant Soccer Coach

SUPERVISOR:  Head Men’s Coach

FUNCTIONS:                 To assist the Head Coach with daily team operations

                                    Primary functions include:

                                       1) duties as assigned by the Head Coach

                                       2) day to day work with team, both in practice sessions and on game days

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ø       Acquire scouting reports for upcoming opponents

Ø       Game-day preparation

Ø       Recruiting help during season as needed

Ø       Supervise team study hall as needed

Ø       Helping with team training sessions

Ø       Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Ø       8 hours/week during school year

Ø       Full season’s commitment desired

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ø       Knowledge of the game of soccer

Ø       Desire to learn and gain collegiate coaching experience

Ø       Computer and data entry skills

Ø       Highly responsible, accurate, and respectful

Ø       Ability to work as a team member with staff

Ø       Ability to take directions

Ø       Minimum cumulative Bethany GPA of 2.5 preferred

STANDARDS  OF  PERFORMANCE:

Ø       Periodic evaluation by the Head Coach
