A new joint major between Business and Health and Physical Education
Sports Management/Sports Administration is a large and growing field for employment of college graduates. More than 150 U.S. colleges and universities plus many in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Mexico offer undergraduate and graduate programs. At least two major universities, Ohio State and the University of Connecticut, offer Ph.D. programs in the field. The Bethany College Sports Management major is a strong academic program designed to develop skills in both the business and sports aspects of these popular careers. The program, as conceived at Bethany College, is unique when compared to many other programs. Most other programs place major emphasis on P.E., recreation, and sports courses. The Bethany College program, as a joint program, places equal emphasis on business and sports management preparation, with major support in communications and psychology. Graduates of our program will be better prepared for positions of responsibility and to enter graduate school programs.
