MISSION STATEMENT
The Criminal Justice Program seeks to prepare graduates for service in the criminal justice system in the United States by offering a value based, liberal arts education in conjunction with professional course work in the field of criminal justice.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
1. Provide a multi-disciplinary study of crime and its causation.
2. Provide a study of the components, processes and programs of the American justice system.
3. Provide a study of the theories of society, human behavior and criminology.
4. Provide a theory based yet street wise curriculum.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
1. The faculty will demonstrate excellence in teaching.
2. The faculty will provide appropriate advising for students.
3. The faculty will review each existing course to determine if its content furthers the mission of the program.
4. The faculty will develop learning outcomes for each course and method to assess whether those outcomes are being met.
5. The faculty will review and revise the curriculum according to the needs of the students and the program.
The Faculty will hold a year end review of the program to review student success and make program recommendations for improvement.
