Music News - Symphony Orchestra
SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA TO PERFORM MAY 17 AT BETHANY
LINDSBORG, Kan.—The Bethany College / Lindsborg Community Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Richard Koshgarian, will present its spring concert on May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Hall.
 
The concert is free and open to the public.
 
The program will feature works by Rossini, Finzi and Beethoven. Guest vocalist will be Daniel Mahraun, associate professor of music at Bethany College. Mahraun, a baritone, will perform “Let Us Garlands Bring” by Gerald Finzi.
 
The 40-piece orchestra is made up of Bethany students and members of the community.
 
Bethany College, established by Swedish Lutheran immigrants in 1881, is a college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The mission of Bethany College is to nurture and challenge individuals in their search for truth and meaning as they lead lives of faith, learning and service.
