Brass, Music Education, Band, Jazz Band

Doug Talbott, Assistant Professor of Music, directs the Symphonic Band, Brass Ensemble, Blue Dozen (pep band), Jazz Ensemble, and is Coordinator of the Music Education Program. Doug previously taught in the public schools at Ellsworth High School, Nickerson High School, and Smoky Valley High School. In addition, he was Head of the Music Department at Butler County Community College in El Dorado.

Doug received his B.M.E. from Bethany College and his M.M.E. from Fort Hays State University, where he was a teaching assistant. He has done additional graduate work at Morehead State University and Wichita State University. Doug studied conducting with Lowell Burroughs of Bethany, Clarence Sawhill of UCLA, Al Wright of Purdue, and Lyle Dilley of Fort Hays State.
