Theatre

Professor Greg LeGault received his B.A. in Theatre-Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and his M.A. in Theatre History and Criticism from Ohio University-Athens. He is currently in the process of completing a Ph.D. in Playwriting from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. A recipient of Bethany College's Mortvedt Teaching Excellence and Campus Leadership Award in 2003, Professor LeGault's other awards include SIUC's 1999 Christian H. Moe Playwriting Award for Best Short Play and the Council for Wisconsin Writers' 1998 Dale Wasserman Drama Award, which he shared with Chicago-based playwriting partner Michael Speller. Professor LeGault's plays have been produced at SIUC, the University of Wisconsin-Marinette's Theatre On The Bay, Bethany College, the Orlando Fringe Festival, Strawdog Theatre in Chicago, and the Cleveland Women's Theatre Project. During his more than thirty years in theatre, Professor LeGault has worked as an actor, director, designer, and playwright. Since 2004, he has served as designer and technical director for the Young Thespian Players, a children's theatre troupe in Emporia, Kansas, in which he shares creative responsibilities with his wife Susie, daughter Emma, and sister-in-law Penni, who formed the group and serves as its artistic director.
