Youth and Family Ministry Certification School The Youth and Family Ministry Certification School is a three-week course for college students and professional youth workers. The curriculum uses highly interactive teaching methods to prepare students for youth ministry. Students spend two weeks on the Bethany campus and a week in Vero Beach, Fla. In Florida, students participate in adventure education, complete a service activity and stay with a host family. All activities are part of the learning experience. The January 2006 school was jointly sponsored by Bethany and Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D., in partnership with Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Bethany and its partners hope to hold the school again in 2007. Contact Campus Pastor Noni Strand at strandn@bethanylb.edu for more information.
Youth Events Youth are invited to Christian Youth Day on campus to build relationships with other youth in the Church and deepen their faith. Bethany is working more closely with the Central States Synod Youth Ministry Team to better meet the needs of young people, youth directors, and youth groups in our synods. In addition, the Bethany Youth Ministry Team (BYMT), a Campus Ministry group of Bethany Students, goes out into congregations and synods for lock-ins and youth events. Contact: Rev. Noni Strand, Campus Pastor, (785) 227-3380, ext. 8340, strandn@bethanylb.edu.
