Laura Stenlund is in her first year as the head athletic trainer at Bethany College. Prior to earning the head athletic trainer position, she served as Bethany College’s assistant athletic trainer from 2011-2012.
During her time at Bethany College, Stenlund has been the athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s soccer teams, wrestling and softball teams. Currently she is the acting athletic trainer for the women’s soccer, wrestling and softball teams. In addition to her athletic training responsibilities, Stenlund is an associate professor in the health, physical education, and athletic training department teaching courses on athletic training.
Prior to being an athletic trainer at Bethany College, Stenlund was a graduate assistant at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb. While at Hastings College she earned a master’s degree in teaching in physical education. She has earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. and an associates’ degree in Sports Medicine from Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Stenlund earned her BOC Certification in 2011 and is licensed as an athletic trainer by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Kansas Athletic Trainers Society.
Stenlund is originally from McClelland, Iowa but currently resides in Lindsborg, Kan.
