Nancy Young began her Bethany College experience in 2013 as the assistant director of admissions – transfer specialist. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s in marketing and Delta State University with a Master of Education degree. She is also certified to teach English, marketing and elementary education in Mississippi.
Young worked with McPherson College for four years as director of marketing, advisor and freshman seminar teacher. Prior to McPherson College, she worked in corporate marketing with Underground Vaults and Storage, Inc. and Outdoor Technologies, Inc. In addition to her marketing experiences, Young taught elementary school in Clarksdale, Miss. for five years.
A McPherson, Kan. resident, Young did freelance work for the “100 Years of All Schools Day” book compiled by the McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau. She also contributes freelance work to “The McPherson Sentinel.”
Within the community, Young serves as school board member for USD 418. She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership McPherson Class, involved with the Chamber of Commerce and a member of Young Professionals of McPherson. Active within the McPherson Church of the Brethren, Young serves on the Faith Formation Team and the Haiti Medical Committee. She previously participated in handbells and chancel choir.
In her free time, Young enjoys spending time with her family, attending sporting events, book club, and her dog, Nelly.
