Scholarships

Bethany College provides academic scholarships for international students.
If you are admitted, your application will automatically be reviewed for an academic scholarship.

==========================
Financial Documents

As stated above, all students must be able to demonstrate financial ability to pay for their academic and living expenses before being issued an immigration document. For the 2011-2012 academic year, Bethany College estimates that living and academic expenses will total U.S. $30,291.

Appropriate documents reflecting financial ability include one or a combination of the following:

  • Bank statement on official bank letterhead indicating sufficient funds to cover the cost stated above; the bank statement should be stamped or signed by a bank official
  • Affidavit of Sponsor, submitted by a sponsor and accompanied by an official bank statement.  This form can be downloaded or sent by request.
  • Scholarship letter from sponsoring organization indicating dates, amounts, and terms of sponsorship.

Financial documents are needed for immigration purposes only and do not affect the admission decision.

Immigration Document Request for F-1 Visa

If you are admitted to Bethany College and are not a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident, you need a student visa to study in the United States.

Visas are issued by U.S. embassies and consulates, but you must have the proper documents in order to apply for one. This documentation is an immigration form, an I-20, issued by Bethany College.

You must check with your U.S. embassy or consulate to understand the visa requirements and the visa application procedure. It may take weeks or months in some countries to be given a visa.

If you are a transfer student who has been admitted to Bethany College, you must request a transfer of your I-20 from your most recent institution attended to Bethany College.

Change effective Spring 2010:

International students will pay the $100 deposit prior to Bethany College sending the 1-20 to the student, except in those cases where a recruiting firm has a signed contract with Bethany College. If an international student uses a recruiting firm that does not have a signed contract with our college, they will also need to send a $100 deposit before being issued an 1-20.

Health Insurance Coverage

Health insurance coverage is mandatory for all international students enrolled at Bethany College. Health insurance coverage will be automatically included in international student tuition bills and will be listed on the 1-20.

An international health insurance plan has been created for all international students at Bethany College.

A description of the plan, plan coverage and design may be found on the EIIA website. Questions of concerns about the coverage should be directed to EIIA's Student Team at 1(888)-260-7415. Additional information regarding the health plans can be found at the following website: www.eiia.org/bethany.
