Bethany College senior artist Hugo Escobar will exhibit at the Mingenback Art Center from April 29-May 4.

A reception will be held May 2 from 2-4 p.m. with a gallery talk by the artist at 2:30 pm. This exhibition and reception is free and open to the public.

Escobar, Emporia, Kan., is an art education major with a concentration in sculpture. The main focus of his exhibition will focus on his sculptural work. The show will also include a variety of other work that speaks to his abilities as an art educator.

Mingenback Art Center is located on the corner of Olsson and Second Street on the Bethany College campus. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Mingenback houses the premier center for art instruction in the region and a gallery devoted to the work of regional artists and Bethany College students and alumni. The Bethany College Art Department recognizes that open and rigorous inquiry is essential to a liberal-arts education. Because art reflects life, art made and displayed within the Mingenback Art Center may address mature themes.
