Bethany College will celebrate the life of Leah Trask with a memorial art exhibition in Mingenback Art Center Gallery October 7–10. A memorial service will be on October 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short program at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception is free and open the public.

On May 21, Trask, a senior from Lemon Grove, Calif., passed away in a car accident. A studio art major with a concentration in painting, she also participated in volleyball and was a member of the Art Club at Bethany. This exhibit includes works from Trask’s college career.

Mingenback Art Center, location on the corner of Olsson and Second Street on the Bethany College campus, is open from 9 a. m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mingenback houses the premier center for art instruction in the region and a gallery devoted to the work of regional artists, Bethany College students and alumni. The Bethany College Art Department recognizes that open and rigorous inquiry is essential to a liberal-arts education. Because art reflects life, art made and displayed within the Mingenback Art Center may address mature themes.
