Bethany College senior Morgan Evans will exhibit her senior art show at the Mingenback Art Center from December 9-13. A reception in her honor will be December 12 from 2-4 p.m. with a gallery talk at 2:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception is free and open to the public.

Evans, Yuma, Ariz., is a transfer student from Arizona Western College. Her exhibition will include works in a variety of media that was created over the course of her two and a half years as a student at Bethany. Many of her influences originate from African art with an emphasis on African masks. Another element of her show focuses on hand built and wheel thrown bottles.

An art education major with a concentration in ceramics, Evans completed her student teaching in McPherson, Kan., at the elementary level and will complete her student teaching at Central High School in Salina, Kan., in December. At Bethany, she also participated in softball.

Mingenback Art Center is located on the corner of Olsson and Second Street on the Bethany College campus. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Mingenback houses the premier center for art instruction in the region and a gallery devoted to the work of regional artists and Bethany College students and alumni. The Bethany College Art Department recognizes that open and rigorous inquiry is essential to a liberal-arts education. Because art reflects life, art made and displayed within the Mingenback Art Center may address mature themes.
