Theatre to Present “Agnes of God”

LINDSBORG, KAN., October 11, 2011—The intense, controversial three-character play, Agnes of God, is brought to Burnett stage by Bethany College Theatre. The play will be presented on November 3, 4, and 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Burnett Center. General admission is $5; seating is limited to 60 guests.

LINDSBORG, KAN., October 10, 2011—The Bethany College/Lindsborg Community Orchestra will present its fall concert on Sunday, October 16, at 4 p.m. in Presser Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Swedish Artist Jordi Arkö to Participate in Hyllningsfest Discussion Panel

LINDSBORG, KAN., October 3, 2011—Artist Jordi Arkö is Bethany College’s 2011 Pearson Distinguished Professor of Swedish Studies. In addition to teaching classes and working with Bethany students, faculty, and staff, Arkö will participate in numerous public events, including sitting on a discussion panel during Lindsborg’s Svensk Hyllningsfest on October 9 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Burnett Center at Bethany College.

Naming Ceremony for Nelson Science Center to be held

LINDSBORG, KAN., October 3, 2011—Bethany College will hold a naming ceremony for the Nelson Science Center additions on October 8 at 11:30 a.m. in Nelson. The chemistry lab will be named for Dr. Chuck “Doc” Englund, retired professor of chemistry, and the lobby will be named for Rev. George and Luella Eller, lifetime supporters of Bethany. Construction in Nelson began in 2008 to increase the number of laboratories in the building from three to six and to renovate the east face of the building.
