Official headcount numbers were released by Bethany College recently showing the College continues to see significant growth on its MindFire campus in Wichita, and increased the number of transfer student from last year.
The 20th Day Enrollment Report, used for official reporting purposes shows that transfer student admissions to Bethany have increased 34 percent from last fall. According to Matt Pfannenstiel, dean of admissions and financial aid, the larger number of transfer students is something Bethany hopes to see continue.
“We are building strong relationships with our community colleges,” he said. “The community college system in Kansas is one of the best and we are working to make and maintain partnerships with them to assist their students in degree completion.”
With nearly 50 percent of Bethany’s student population coming from Kansas, Pfannenstiel says it is important to continue to build the community college connections.
Bethany at MindFire, grew its enrollment by 25 percent over last fall. The MindFire campus in Wichita offers bachelor of arts degree in digital arts and has developed articulation agreements with area community colleges to make it easy for students to transfer and complete their degree.
Final head count totals show the campus at 705; however for reporting purposes audit only and ACCK cross registered students are not included in the official report, which stands at 699. New student enrollment total is 246 with 85 transfer students, and 161 first-time freshmen, the third largest class in the last five years.
