The Class of 2015 presented a new cross for the annual Lift High Cross tradition at Homecoming.

Sign-ups to cover a shift of Lift High the Cross (LHTC) will begin September 28 through October 2 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside of the Caf or anytime in the Student Development Office. Lift High The Cross will kickoff on October 7 at 9 p.m. in the Amphitheatre and will continue with the cross lifted high each hour until the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 10.

The tradition dates back to 1993 when student government president Donnie Herren wanted Bethany students to undertake some kind of Guinness Book of World Record achievement during Homecoming. He envisioned an activity that involved all students where Bethany’s identity in Christ would be visible and where the Homecoming celebration would be connected with Bethany’s faith community.
This year’s LHTC event will conclude with a procession from the center of campus to the football stadium where a prayer will be offered before the game begins.
