Former Bethany College student Cory McManus died Friday, February 12, in Reseda, California. McManus played football at Bethany College during the 2015-2016 season. He was a junior majoring in Criminal Justice and started on the offensive line as center for the Swedes.

“Cory was a very likable student-athlete during his time at Bethany,” said Dane Pavlovich, Dean of Athletics at Bethany College. “He worked extremely hard to be a major contributor on the field. His competitive spirit and attitude will be lasting memories of Cory’s time as a Swede.”

While at Bethany he was an All KCAC Honorable Mention All-Conference player. He transferred to Bethany from College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, where he received 1st Team All-Conference honors.

“On the field, he was a coach’s dream,” Coach Paul Hubbard said. “Our love and prayers go out to the McManus family.”
