The Bethany College fund raising campaign “Investing in Student Success” will kick off the second phase of its Lindsborg campaign with an event on Sunday, February 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ol’ Stuga for campaign leaders, captains and workers.
The local campaign goal of $500,000, is in sight, according to Ken Sjogren, interim director of advancement at Bethany. “The first phase leadership calls have been received well,” he said. “Our prospects have stepped up to meet the challenge of the Lindsborg community campaign.”
Leading the second phase of the campaign are Bruce Harding ’61, a retired science teacher; and Ryan Biegert ’06, branch manager of Peoples Bank and Trust in Lindsborg. They will select captains and workers to make calls along with the Bethany Advancement Office team of Sjogren, Molly Johnson, and Warren Olson.
“We are very excited about the potential of this portion of the local campaign,” Johnson, director of the annual fund, said. “Many of these calls will be made on our younger alumni and friends in the community.”
“Investing in Student Success” is the Bethany College fund raising campaign with the goal of $4 million in unrestricted gifts over the next two years. The campaign focuses on four areas of giving: Scholarships; Campus Ministry/Faith Expression; Funds for Bethany’s Future; and People & Programs.
“I am very proud of the leadership and workers in the Lindsborg community,” Dr. Robert Vogel, interim president of the college, said. “The way they have stepped up making two year commitments has been very encouraging.”
