The Bethany College Newtonian Society and Science Department are sponsoring a week-long calendar of events to help students learn more about opportunities available in medicine with help from several college alumni.
Bethany alumni participating in events during the week include: Dr. Kier Swisher, D.O. ’02, emergency medicine physician at Salina Regional Health Center; Dr. Kelli Krase, M.D. ’04, physician and clinical instructor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City; Dr. Tessa Rohrberg, M.D. ’08, physician at Family Care Center in Winfield, Kansas; and Michael Ziegler ’12, second-year medical student at the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Salina.
Pre-Med Week begins Monday, Sept. 26 with a brown bag lunch session, titled “Preparing for Medical School.” The session will be conducted by Dr. William Cathcart-Rake, director of the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Salina. Dr. Carthcart-Rake is the only presenter during the week who is not a Bethany alumni. His program will begin at noon in the Levin Room.
Most programs will be “lunch & learn” style sessions and those attending are encouraged to bring their own lunches.
