Two Bethany College music professors were recently selected to present clinics at the Kansas Music Educators Association convention in Wichita.

Dr. Lillian Green, assistant professor of music and director of orchestras, will present “Teaching Music Theory to String Students” on February 24 at 8 a.m. and Dr. Claudio Re, assistant professor of music and director of bands, will present “How vs. What: Ten Commandments for a Purposeful Band Warm Up” on February 25 at 8 a.m.

Bethany has a long tradition of participation at the KMEA convention, for over a decade the college has hosted a booth at the Kansas Music Educators Association convention.  For three days, the staff from the Music Department, the Admissions Office, and the Alumni Office come together to greet alumni, friends, and perspective students. The Alumni Office holds a luncheon on Friday for the alumni educators at the conference free of cost. They use this time for alumni to meet current music staff and students.

The mission of the KMEA is to support music educators by fostering leadership, providing professional development, and promoting the advocacy of music learning in schools and communities. This year’s convention runs February 23-25.
