The Kansas Exemplary Educators Network (KEEN) recently honored two students from the Bethany College Department of Education as Teachers of Promise. Eileen Vlamis, a senior from Wichita, and Jason Drouillard, a senior from Olsburg, Kansas, were recognized at the annual KEEN conference in Wichita. Vlamis is a secondary education math major and Drouillard is 6-12 English major.

The Kansas State Department of Education developed KEEN, a network of individuals from the Kansas Teacher of the Year, Milken Family Foundation Educator Awards Program, Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, Kansas Horizon Awards Program, and National Board Certified Teachers. The KEEN’s mission is to build and utilize a network of exemplary educators to lead improvements in schools, student performance and in the teaching profession.
