The honors class, “The Pilgrimage,” begins its journey to Scotland, England and France on Wednesday, May 24. This semester, the class examined the art of the pilgrimage through literature, architecture, religion, history and music. During the class students reflected on the meaning of the journey as it applies to their lives in the past, present, and future. The culminating experience is the pilgrimage that will take them to Oban, Glasglow and Aberdeen in Scotland and to the “Holy Island,” Lindisfarne, England. The students and instructors will also travel to Paris and spend a day in Plum Village, a Buddhist village.

Those on the pilgrimage are Professors Tyler Atkinson and Melody Steed and students Austyn Callahan, Anita Halterman, Hannah Imm, Kayln Powers, and Sophie Servaes.
