The Kansas Piano Trio will perform at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery

The Kansas Piano Trio will perform at the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery on Sunday, January 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. The trio is composed of Betül Soykan on violin, Benjamin Morris-Cline on cello, and J. Bradley Baker on piano. They will also feature Bethany College’s Lillian Green on viola. The concert is a part of the Sandzen Gallery’s 2018-19 chamber music series.

Turkish-American violinist Betul Soykan is known for her exciting and poignant performance style as a recitalist and soloist. She has performed on the world’s stage and currently serves as assistant professor of violin at Wichita State University.

Benjamin Cline is an American cellist who has performed in the United Stated, Europe, Near East, and Asia. He is a Fort Hays State University associate professor of cello and bass and serves as department chair. He studied with Alan Harris at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Jim Fittz at the University of Northern Colorado, and many other well-known musicians.

Pianist J. Bradley Baker enjoys an accomplished career as a soloist, collaborative pianist, vocal coach, and educator. Baker has performed in concert halls throughout the United States and Canada. He is a dedicated arts educator and currently teaches music theory, directs the Music Preparatory School, and coaches vocal students at Tabor College.

Lillian Green is an assistant professor of music at Bethany College. She has performed in the United States and Europe. Dr. Green earned a DMA in viola performance and a master’s degree in music theory pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. Previously she earned degrees from West Virginia University and the University of Delaware.
