LINDSBORG, KAN., September 18, 2019-Bishop Emeritus Munib Younan, Lutheran Bishop Emeritus of Jordan and the Holy Land, is coming the Bethany College, Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11, 2019, to share insights regarding Christian/Muslim relationships. Bishop Younan has most recently served as President of the Lutheran World Federation. His experience is expected to provide students, faculty, community members and area clergy with an unparalleled opportunity to engage in religious and political reflection on communities of faith in the Middle East.

Students, faculty, clergy, and members of the community are invited to a buffet dinner on Thursday, October 10 at 5:30 p.m. in Lindquist Hall on Bethany College campus where Younan will speak. The cost of the dinner is $12.00 to be paid at the event. Advance registration is required by sending your name and congregational or institutional affiliation email to monsonr@bethanylb.edu by October 9. A panel discussion in Lindquist Hall on the topic of interfaith approaches to immigrations and borders will follow at 7 pm.

 

On October 11, lunch will be served through the cafeteria service at 11:30 a.m. in the Levin Room. Please email monsonr@bethanylb.edu by October 9 to reserve your spot, as space is limited in the Levin Room. Also on October 11, Bishop Younan will give a public address in Pearson Chapel, Mabee Welcome Center, from 1 to 1:50 pm, and make himself available to meet with those interested, in the Mabee Welcome Center from 2 to 4 pm.
