LINDSBORG, KAN., October 22, 2019 The Bethany College Department of Music will host a recital on October 29, in which Bethany students will be presenting selections in Pearson Chapel, on campus, from 2:30 to 3 pm.  

Student performers, Abigail Rishel-Barnett, Austin Hampton, Lauren Gragg, Elise Nelson, and Maya Herrera will perform in both Classical and Music Theatre.  Gavin Larios and Carl Lindstrom will perform in the Classical division.  Matthew Slusser will present in the Musical Theatre division.  These students study voice with adjunct Professor Leslie Mangrum.

The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.

On November 1-2, the above Bethany students will also travel to Kansas State University to present at the annual National Association of Teachers of Singing Conference for the West Central Region.  The students will present in the Classical and Music Theatre divisions, and be judged by regional college voice Professors.  Students from Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and Wyoming will attend workshops and masterclasses in addition to presenting their prepared selections in a competition. Students must have 3-4 prepared selections for each category in which they participate.
