Licensure for current students and alumni (to renew or apply for a teaching license.)
Contact KSDE website (ksde.org) for License Applications with instructions, Fingerprint Card Order Form and payment instructions for background checks as well as licensure and Testing Information. Licensure in Kansas will take 6 to 8 weeks to complete.
If you are licensing in another state, please contact that state’s Department of Education website for licensure forms and instructions.
In all correspondence, please include your name, year of graduation, Bethany I.D. number (if you know it) and a maiden name, if your name has now changed.
Testing information can also be found on www.ets.org.
The state of Kansas also allows teaching candidates to pursue licensure in Middle School English, Mathematics, Social Science, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Please contact your adviser relative to coursework designed to facilitate these endorsements.

The Teacher Education Program at Bethany College is approved by the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) and was last accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) in 2013. Bethany was the first private college in Kansas to be accredited by NCATE in 1954. The education department is transitioning to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in the accreditation process. Thus, candidates can be assured that teacher education at Bethany meets state and national standards for excellence.
