Originally from New Jersey, Cathy has been a Derby, Kansas resident since 1992. She has her undergraduate degree from Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio in Business (Marketing) and her MA in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling.
Her first exposure to Higher Ed was in Residential Life at her Alma Mater for five years as a Hall Director. Following that, Cathy was a stay at home mom and extensive volunteer in her church, school and community while she raised their children. She re-entered the workforce into public education in 2001 where she was a paraprofessional, an MIS clerk and administrative assistant in special education, finally returning to higher education in 2011 with Cowley College.
While at Cowley, Cathy was a member of the team that developed and implemented a comprehensive student services “one-stop-shop” for student needs. Her experience includes a working knowledge in records, financial aid, advising, and scholarships.
Cathy is married to Mark, registrar at Friends University, Wichita. Together they have four adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and one granddaughter. In her spare time she likes to sew, research her family history, and blog.
