Prayer Garden dedication held on Saturday

April 12, 2022

It was a beautiful spring day to welcome those who made the Prayer Garden at Bethany College a reality. On Saturday, April 9, 2022, over 40 guests including artists, donors and supporters of the Prayer Garden assembled for a Service of Dedication led by Campus Pastor Amy Truhe.

In the winter of 2021, bronze sculpture artist Joanne Nuss of Great Bend was on campus for the installation of her sculpture “Four Crosses” in the prayer garden. With the sculpture in place, a service of dedication was planned.

In attendance were the family of former Bethany College President the Reverend Doctor L. Dale Lund. Dr. Lund served Bethany from 1958-1965. The Lund Family wished to honor their father by giving back to Bethany College and became involved in the planning of the Prayer Garden. The College memorialized President Lund and recognized his service to the institution with the placement of a plaque bearing the following quote:

“A college’s strength lies with its faculty, its hope lies with its students, and its proof and power lie with its alumni. Each is permanently related and everlastingly dependent on the other.” The Rev. Dr. L. Dale Lund, President 1958-1965
