Bethany College Announces 2025 Bethany Backers Campaign to Renovate Campus Cardio Room

January 17, 2025

We are pleased to announce this year's Bethany Backer project, 'running' the month of February. This year, funds raised for Bethany Backers will go to replace the out-of-date and end-of-life cardio equipment in the cardio room adjoining the weight room. The space, frequently requested for a renovation by students, currently does not have enough functional equipment for our sports teams or multiple students at a time. With your help, students will receive commercial grade treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and misc. equipment.

"We are so excited that the Alumni Council has decided to take on the cardio room," said Laura Moreno, Class of 2009, Dean of Athletics, "We anticipate this project will not only be a great health tool for students but also has the potential to help student-athletes recover from or prevent injury. We greatly appreciate all of the support from our Alumni Community."

The purchase of new equipment will also allow Bethany to have warranties on machines, as well as the ability to more easily and efficiently develop and manage maintenance plans.

You can make a difference! The Bethany College Alumni Council began Bethany Backers in 2020 to fund a special project, of their choosing (but suggested by students), each year. Since the campaign's inception, alums have helped campus to get a mock courtroom for criminal justice students, more seating on campus, games for the Pit, a full-size outdoor basketball court, and more.

Donate online or mail your check in with 'Bethany Backers' in the memo line before the end of February!
