Dan Lolli, COO Sporting KC

Dan Lolli is entering his 16th season in Major League Soccer, currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Sporting Kansas City. Lolli has been instrumental in elevating soccer in the U.S., playing a key role in the development of world-class facilities and business ventures. He began his career with the Columbus Crew, managing the first soccer-specific stadium in the U.S., before joining Sporting KC in 2016 to help create premier soccer training facilities.



After a two-year stint at FC Cincinnati, where he oversaw the opening of the $250 million TQL Stadium, Lolli returned to Sporting KC. He now leads Kansas City’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, working to secure base camps for international teams at the Compass Minerals National Performance Center. Under his leadership, Sporting KC was named the 2022 MLS Security Team of the Year, recognized for innovations in stadium security and safety protocols.

The Carl F. and Catherine Herman Mauney Distinguished Lectureship Series in Economics and Business


A $50,000 gift from Dr. and Mrs. C. Herman Mauney of Albuquerque, New Mexico, has funded this annual series of lecturers and consultancies named for Dr. Mauney's parents. Dr. Mauney was a former member of the Bethany College Board of Directors and was a long-time friend of Bethany College.


The Mauney endowed fund provides added education and professional development growth opportunities for students, faculty, and friends of Bethany.


Each year, in consultation with the Academic Dean, the faculty of the Business Department selects a distinguished scholar or business leader who will lecture on current topics such as economics, accounts, small business management, marketing, labor relations, or entrepreneurship. The lectures are open to all students and to the public.


In addition to their keynote address, the distinguished speaker will visit classrooms for questions-and-answer sessions and one-on-one discussions to broaden students' intellectual curiosity.
