Bethany College Music Department presents Maya Herrera, Senior Voice Recital

LINDSBORG, KAN., April 25, 2022 - The Bethany College Department of Music will host a recital on Sunday, May 8, at 2:00 PM. Maya Herrera will perform her Senior Voice Recital in Pearson Chapel in the Mabee Welcome Center on the Bethany College Campus. Maya is a Vocal Music Education major from Brighton, Colorado. During high school and while at Bethany she has also been involved with theatre productions. While at Bethany she studied voice with Leslie Mangrum, Assistant Professor of Music. Ms. Herrera plans to student teach next fall. Her recital includes works from composers: Cavalli, Frescobaldi, Rosa, Bencini, Clara and Robert Schumann, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Kirkpatrick, Iconis, Tsori, and Sondheim. The program will also include students Kaleb Hildebrand, Madison Price, and her accompanist, Judy Weber. The recital is open to the public, and admission is free. The recital will also be live streamed at bethanylb.edu/live

Bethany College is proud to announce the return of sideline cheer, launching with the 2025–26 academic year. Leading the program is newly appointed head coach Patricia Smith, an experienced educator and cheer coach. Sideline cheer will return to Bethany’s home football and basketball games.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Saxton as the new Assistant Professor of English. Saxton earned both her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Penn State University, where she taught courses in writing and composition, world literature, and pre-1800 literature.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Case as the new Assistant Professor of Religion. Case earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women's and Gender Studies.
