Based on work done by Gianni Pes and Michel Poulain outlined in the Journal of Experimental Gerontology, Dan Buettner, founder of Blue Zones LLC, coined longevity hotspots around the world as "Blue Zones."

Check out this interview that Buettner did with CBS News recently.

Ultimately, Dan and the team of demographers and researchers found that all blue zones areas share nine specific lifestyle habits that we call the Power 9®.

Blue Zones LLC is now dedicated to creating healthy communities across the United States.
