BETHANY COLLEGE TO PARTICIPATE IN KATS “SAFETY IN FOOTBALL” CAMPAIGN

September 26, 2019
LINDSBORG, Kan. – This Saturday, September 28 the Bethany Department of Athletics will be participating in the Kansas Athletic Trainers Society (KATS) “Safety in Football” campaign. In addition, the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference has committed to participating in the campaign as a whole.

The goal of this campaign is to share tips and directions on how sports teams, specifically, each and every football team in Kansas, can improve safety, lessen the risks of injury, and keep the focus on the fun and camaraderie of football. Athletic trainers are a vital part in the safety and health of all athletes. They specialize in prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions. This campaign was created to keep athletes safe and recognize the athletic trainers who work very hard day in and day out to keep athletes in the game.

“Athletic trainers are an integral part of our everyday life at Bethany College and the Swede Department of Athletics. The work and services they provide are essential to the safety and wellbeing of our student-athletes,” Bethany Dean of Athletics, Laura Moreno said. “Recognizing the athletic trainers through the KATS “Safety in Football” campaign is a tremendous opportunity to honor them for what can often be a thankless job. The reality is, we could not do what we do without them, and we are so thankful for their contributions to our department and our campus.”
