Bethany College Welcomes Christina Highsmith as Director of Marketing and Communications

LINDSBORG, KS., JAN. 7, 2025 — Bethany College is excited to welcome Christina Highsmith as Director of Marketing and Communications to its leadership team. Highsmith brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit marketing, media, and creative collaborations, making her an exceptional fit for Bethany's mission to foster academic and personal growth in a supportive community. 

 

In this role, Highsmith will oversee and direct social media, public relations, print releases, photography, and film for the campus, along with general promotion across all platforms. Her extensive background includes work with Missouri Humanities, KWCH, multiple churches, and various film and photography projects. A graduate of the University of Kansas and a native of Hesston, Kan., Highsmith has strong ties to central Kansas and is eager to reconnect with her roots while advancing Bethany's reach and impact.

Highsmith's leadership and expertise will play a key role in strengthening Bethany College's connection with the community, enhancing campus events, and broadening the college's reach to new audiences. Her ability to bring fresh perspectives and creative strategies to Bethany's marketing efforts aligns with the college's commitment to excellence in education and engagement. By fostering meaningful relationships and promoting Bethany's mission, Christina will help elevate the institution's presence and impact both locally and beyond.

Bethany College is proud to announce the return of sideline cheer, launching with the 2025–26 academic year. Leading the program is newly appointed head coach Patricia Smith, an experienced educator and cheer coach. Sideline cheer will return to Bethany’s home football and basketball games.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Saxton as the new Assistant Professor of English. Saxton earned both her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Penn State University, where she taught courses in writing and composition, world literature, and pre-1800 literature.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Case as the new Assistant Professor of Religion. Case earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women's and Gender Studies.
