Day completed his Doctor of Musical Arts in instrumental conducting at the University of Washington, where he served as the director and conductor for the University of Washington Symphonic Band and the associate conductor for the Wind Ensemble. His extensive experience includes being the conductor and artistic director for the Mukilteo Community Orchestra, the annual Pacific Northwest Band Festival Coordinator, and the Washington Music Educators Association State Conference presenter. He has also been a guest clinician and conductor across the United States, Canada, and South Korea.
Originally from Cincinnati, Day earned his Bachelor of Music in music education with a concentration in trumpet performance and his Master of Music in wind conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. His early career included a position as assistant band director at Turpin High School, where he developed a strong passion for teaching instrumental music.
