Jacob grew up in the Pacific Northwest in Washington State, where he was a competitive swimmer for 12 years and a state-level qualifier in high school. He continued his swimming career in college, competing at NAIA nationals all four years and participating in both relays and individual events his senior year. Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. After graduation, he returned to Washington to work as a Mental Health Counselor at his local YMCA, supporting students during virtual learning through social and emotional development. His passion for student success brought him back to Kansas, where he served as a Student Success Specialist, and later pursued Case Management roles. Through these experiences, Jacob discovered his passion lies in higher education—helping students find their place, purpose, and potential.
