LAURA POPE TO SERVE AS BETHANY COLLEGE MUSIC OFFICE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & MESSIAH FESTIVAL COORDINATOR

LINDSBORG, KS., AUG. 1, 2022 - Bethany College announces Laura Pope as the Music Office Administrative Assistant & Messiah Festival Coordinator. Pope previously worked for Bethany College in the Department of Education from 1985 until 2007 then moved to the Registrar & Financial Aid Office until 2019. Since 2019, Pope worked in the insurance industry as a personal lines underwriter. 

 

Pope shares, “I am grateful to be given the opportunity to return to Bethany College! In my new role as the Music Office and Messiah Festival Coordinator, I am excited to bring my 34 years of experience and knowledge of the college to the Music Department. I look forward to assisting the music faculty and helping music students be successful as they participate in the many music performance opportunities Bethany has to offer as they pursue music degrees. As the Messiah Festival Coordinator, I look forward to greeting and working with the public, with those at Bethany, and in the Lindsborg community who are instrumental in organizing and hosting Bethany’s long-standing tradition.”

Bethany College is proud to announce the return of sideline cheer, launching with the 2025–26 academic year. Leading the program is newly appointed head coach Patricia Smith, an experienced educator and cheer coach. Sideline cheer will return to Bethany’s home football and basketball games.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Audrey Saxton as the new Assistant Professor of English. Saxton earned both her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in English from Penn State University, where she taught courses in writing and composition, world literature, and pre-1800 literature.

Bethany College is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Case as the new Assistant Professor of Religion. Case earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 in Ancient Mediterranean Religions with a graduate portfolio in Women's and Gender Studies.
